There are 25 multiple choice questions on the permit test. You need to get at least 80% in order to pass. Remember, You are NOT allowed to use the driver’s handbook during your permit test. You are being tested on your ability to recall the rules of the road. Prepare yourself before you go in and you will see that you can do well without the manual.

If you are 18 years old or under, you must wait at least 182 days before getting your driver’s license and get at least 40 hours of driving instruction with 10 of those hours being between sunrise and sunset.
When can I take my road test?
During this time period, teens 18 or under need to get at least 40 hours of driving instruction with 10 of those hours being between sunrise and sunset.. In addition, you may drive in various places with your learner’s permit, if you are under 16 you must have a parent/guardian, a qualified driving instructor or grandparent accompanying you when driving with a permit. If you are 16 or older you only need to have a licensed driver age 21 or older accompanying you when driving with a permit.
